United Security Providers is a leading specialist in information security. The Swiss company employees over 100 security professionals at its offices in Bern, Zurich, London and Minsk and operates its own 24/7 Security Operations Center.

With its solutions United Security Providers protects IT infrastructures and applications for companies with high demands on security. Its customers include blue-chip, generally international companies in the finance sector, government, healthcare and industry.

United Security Providers development is characterised by its many years of specialisation in information security. Our range of services has been developed and grown in close dialogue with our customers in the financial services, in government, telecommunications, transport and logistics, the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare and industry in general to meet their needs.











Establishment of the company

Michael Liebi started the company in Bern in 1994, laying the foundations for the development of United Security Providers to become the highest performing IT security provider in Switzerland.

Early specialisation in IT security

Development of platforms and software for ATMs and ticket sales. Information security is a dominant theme in these sensitive areas.

Identity & access management

United Security Providers embarks on its increasing specialisation in Identity & Access Management with the realisation of the first single sign-on and portal security projects.

Takeover of Tarsec

Contra-cyclical expansion in the Zurich region. This acquisition added to our portfolio our own key products in the application and perimeter security sectors.

Takeover of Netbeat AG

Integration of Netbeat AG into the group. Expansion of services into the managed services sector (operation and monitoring of secure infrastructures).

Takeover of Sophia Schweiz AG

Taking over Sophia Schweiz AG has strengthened United Security Providers' capabilities in product development.

Start of international expansion

United Security Providers launches its international expansion by entering the German and Austrian markets.

Added innovative potential

Appointment of Jürg Schwarzenbach to the board of directors. United Security Providers added the renowned IT entrepreneur to its board.

USP Secure Entry Server® goes amazon EC2 Cloud. A solution provided ready-to-use completely from the cloud is available as an alternative to hardware appliances and virtual appliances.

Network Access Control «as-a-service»

Launch of the first network access control «as a service» product in Europe, with the new NAC now also being attractive to smaller companies.

Being a Swiss producer and distributor of products in the fields of network and application security, United Security Providers is permitted, as a member of the Swiss Made Software organisation, to use the quality label to certify its products.



eCH promotes, develops and publishes e-government standards.
eCH objectives follow Switzerland's e-government strategy:

  • Trade and industry's dealings with the authorities are handled electronically.
  • The authorities have modernised their processes and interact with each other electronically.
  • The population is able to handle important (frequent and/or complex) transactions with the authorities by electronic means.


Swiss ICT

United Security Providers is a member of Swiss ICT, the Swiss trade association for information and communications technology. The association promotes the exchange of experience and networking and offers members a platform for continuous professional development.

Swiss Cyber Experts allows privately managed companies and government agencies to fall back on highly specialised experts in the event of a cyber incident. The goal of the public private partnership is to quickly deliver a diagnosis and thus the basis for the problem solution in case of severe cyber incidents that go beyond the resources of the victims.
